Decanter has become the most important wine encounter in the world with the strictest evaluation conditions and to which arrive almost 20 000 wines from the most respectable world wine producers.

Local wine producers have won plenty awards at the local and wider contests, such as e.g. Vinkovo Stankovci, Degustation of New Wine and Olive Oil Nadin, with a peak at the Vinfest Benkovac – the encounter and evaluation of the Northern Dalmatia wines, Sabatina as an International encounter of wine growers and wine producers organised by the Cooperative Alliance of Dalmatia as the biggest wine-producing gathering and evaluation in Croatia, Vina od davnina (Wines Since Ancient Times), organised by the Croatian Agricultural and Forest Advisory Service and the Ministry of Agriculture, dedicated to the autochthonous types and many other national contests from which the local wine producers have regularly brought champion titles and golden awards. They competed all across Europe, as well, and the most illustrative way to tell you about their worth is to list the awards from the Decanter in London.

In 2021, with the organised appearance of the local wine producers among 19 800 wines from all over the world, the following results were achieved: 17 awards to the wine producers of Zadar County, out of which 2 Gold medals (from the 8 awarded to the Croatian wine producers), 3 Silver and 12 Bronze medals. It is important to emphasise that Decanter awards the Gold medal for the wines with 95 and 96 out of 100 points, the Silver medal for the wines from 90 to 94 points, and the Bronze from 86 to 89 points. At most other encounters, all the wines with more than 85 points get the Gold medal, and above 90 points the Big gold medal. According to Croatian regulations, wines go onto the market with both chemical analysis and grades by the panel comprised of authorised organoleptic tasters. All wines with more than 82 points have the right to bear the label of the top-quality wines.
